Design and content creation inspired by Georges Méliès' 1902 silent film classic, A Trip to the Moon.

I handled both the creative direction and production for this project, including concept development, costume design and construction, matte painting, makeup, and art direction. This queer performance art  features my drag queen alter ego, Kari Kerning.
The costume was brought to life through both still photography and motion design, thanks to my collaboration with photographer David Ayllon. (You can see David below, trying on the moon head)

This performance piece took new life during the COVID pandemic. While the world was still in lockdown, I transitioned my performance art online with a self-produced monthly live Zoom series. This ticketed show regularly attracted over 50 attendees every month, featuring interactive comedic performances that included both live and pre-recorded green-screen segments. It was a fantastic way to capture the spontaneous energy of live performance despite the limitations of lockdown, exploring creative new uses for Zoom and other streaming platforms.
